When you're sure you've had enough....

OK -- Kitty Litter freaked me out this morning with her comment to yesterday's entry. LOL

Apparently she was sitting across the aisle from me on the train. I hope I didn't pick my nose or anything! LOL

*******************************

Last nite Jess' brother (aka my brother-in-law HEH) came over for a bit and had dinner with us. Poor guy is heartbroken right now. I've never seen such a young guy be so... ummm... distraught over a girl. There's hope for men yet! Well, not "hope" as in terms of being WITH one so much as that they aren't all heartless, selfish, self-centered ego maniacs. (Woah -- where'd that come from?)

Anyway - I just wanted to hug him. :(

*******************************
I'm so excited! We got invited to go with Packie and Bill to dinner and to see "Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All for You" where Packie and I will be in the "When I Knew" play.
Yay!
I love the hell outta those guys.

*******************************

Can I just say how relieved I am to have some money in our account? LOL

*******************************

Wanna hear something bizarre? My boss' office is directly across from me. I can hear everything that goes on in her office (like or not).

What's she do? Picks up her phone and calls me when she wants to tell me something. LOL

Another thing I've noticed. At lunch time she'll look around the entire office for someone to go to lunch with on her level and I can be sitting right here and she won't even consider asking me to go with her. If no one on her level is available, she'll go by herself. LOL

Believe me -- I'd rather go to lunch by myself (or not go anywhere being as I never have cash on me and no car at my disposal, so that means I have to either walk to get something or not eat).

*******************************
Ok - I'm thoroughly addicted to Diner Dash. I found the full version online for free (with ads) like I care about ads! :)

You have to download this thing...

Wait... no... don't... you won't sleep again for weeks. :P

*******************************

Ok, I'm outta here -- see ya!

This is no ordinary love.

So yesterday we found out that Kristie's car is gonna cost a bit more than we expected. The cylinder head and head gasket are kaput.

Luckily we're getting it fixed for less than half of what the regular garages would charge.

If anyone needs their car fixed -- lemme know -- I'd love to throw some business Ruben's way. :D

**********************************

FINALLY -- I get paid tomorrow. I feel like the entire world is Oliver Twist and they all have their hands out.

"Please ma'am, can I have some more [money] please?"

**********************************

June is gonna be hell up until the 23rd.

Starting on Saturday.

Saturday we have rehearsal for the play. Then Sunday we have to pick up our football gear, after that I have to go to Port Chester to a going away party for my aunt and uncle who are going on a Mormon mission to Brazil for a few years (:::rolling of the eyes::::).

Then come alternating rehearsals for the play and football practice every week until the 22nd when the play is put on.

Thankfully, football practice will no longer be on Sundays. I found that I started dreading Sundays.

BUSY!

**********************************

Jeremie graduates (hopefully) 8th grade next month. Which officially means that I'm an old bat. With one kid in college and the other in high school... well, could I be anything else??

**********************************

Question: Are Disney World and Disney Land the only people traps run by a mouse?

**********************************

Katie is quite entertaining in the morning. LOL

She gave me a ride to work again today since she was driving. Thx again Katie!

Tomorrow it's back to the train both ways. Yay!

**********************************
Welp, time to go.

I must be bored...

A friend of mine is a big fan of the Tazmanian Devil ("Taz").

When I saw her the other day I again noticed her Taz tattoo on her lower leg.

If you don't know who Taz is (by the way, thank you for getting out from under your rock to read my blog), he's a Looney Tunes character that has these -- well, "tizzies" where he spins around and around and around so fast he himself becomes a little (destructive) tornado.

Like this:

He's kind of a really fast "Animal" from the muppet show. If you don't know who HE is, well, I just plain give up on you.

Anyway -- what I thought about when saw her tattoo was how much Taz is like everyone I know.

We spin and spin and spin around in a whirlwind our whole lives. We go at such an absurd pace that we really can't possibly see what the hell it is that is right in front of us but we graze by this thing and that thing until we've cleared our way back home.

When we stop spinning -- we stand their panting, tongues hanging out of our mouths and spitting out unintelligible blabberings while we wait for the merry-go-round behind our eyes to finally come to a complete stop.

I guess what I'm saying is -- I think I get it.

If you want this - you're gonna have to ask...

Wait, wha? It's Tuesday??

Dammit! :P

Hi!

Ok... where'd we last leave off...?

Ok, so we didn't go to the wedding on Saturday. Why? Truthfully, we couldn't afford the gas to Masschusetts. Pathetic, huh?

Yeah well -- that, unfortunately was the reason.

So Saturday we did nothing but clean the house.

We also decided that doing the youth group EVERY week is just too much for us so we pulled back to doing that just once or twice a month. I gotta say, it has relieved a lot of the pressure for us. We were on overload.

So we didn't go to Youth Group on Sunday but did go to football practice - where I signed my contract to play for the team.

...and so did Jess and Cat. :P

Yay! I'm not alone on the team! LOL

Poor Jess is so sore from that one practice. I remember those days. LOL I was hurtin' so bad that I wanted to quit.

But I didn't.

Now practice isn't so bad.

*************************************

I'm hoping this week I get cleared to start using the gym at work. The fitness center is LITERALLY right across the hall from my department...

...and it's free to employees.

I have no excuses.

Anyway, I need to get this body back in shape. This is ridickerous. ;)

*************************************

Monday after Jeremie woke us up early to go see the Memorial Day parade in town (luckily to watch it we only have to walk down to the end of our street) -- we made a dirt pie and the 4 of us headed over to Bear and Meg's house for a "linesman" picnic.

We had a lot of fun.

While we were there we met another lez couple from Bridgeport that we met through Myspace/through Bear and Meg -- they seemed really nice. :)

*************************************

We've decided that we aren't taking the kids to New Paltz Pride this weekend since they are showing no interest what-so-ever. Now we're debating about going anyway. I think I'd like to.

I think Val and Linda plan on going still (right?) so it should be fun. :D

*************************************

Lemme see -- oh, this morning I got the pleasant surprise of carpooling with Katie. We both work in the same city again so she was driving and swung by and got me. Woot woot... no train for me this morning! LOL

:)

Thx Katie boi! :P

Lucky for Jess that meant not having to get up to take me to the train station and actually getting her late morning sleep. :P

*************************************

Uhhh... lessee... what else? This Sunday we get our equipment for football... uniforms, pads, the works. We already had our helmets.

Garsh, we're really gonna do this. LOL

Eh well -- gives me somewhere to put all my aggression. :D

*************************************

Hmmmm -- I guess I'm tapped...

And now... your Moment of Zen:

Week 2 is in the history books!

Happy Friday-Before-A-3-Day-Weekend!

I turned in my observations for my child development class... MOST of it I had to make up because I realized that I did the assignment wrong. Whoops! LOL Anyway, I found out this morning that I got an A. Woot! Woot!

I wish I could say I was doing as well in my other class where I'm pulling a B average (dammit)..

I'm pissed about how much homework my Social Problems class gives. Every week I have to a) answer discussion board questions about each of the 3 chapters we have to read b) take a "chapter review" test for each chapter we read and c) take a cumulative test for all 3 chapters which asks the same damn questions the "chapter review" tests ask.

I know one thing - I'm going to complain about it when the inevitable "end of class survey" comes out. This is ridiculous. I'm totally behind in that class.

************************

Tomorrow Jess and I go to our first lesbian wedding (well besides our own lol). So a big old congratulations to Bee and Beba!

Can't wait to see you two tomorrow!

************************

So I see that you guys are just as divided as I am on the issue of which train to take. LOL

I've decided that I am just gonna muscle my way into a seat on the 4:54. That extra 20 minutes at home is worth it. :)

************************

Well, it seems as if everyone is going on a cruise this year! Kat and Tina are going on that cruise in July. Now we hear that Eva and Amanda are going on an Olivia cruise in September.

Dag nabbit! lol

We wanna go on a cruise!! :P

************************

So tonight we have no plans (yay!) I do have to finish two more of those d@mn tests.. but that's it. Tomorrow Kristie's getting the furniture she bought from Nicki "delivered"... then we have Bee's wedding. Sunday is youth group and football practice and Monday is a linesmen get together in Hamden.

Bizzy. :P

Tina-cious Week in Review:

************************

Welp, time to go -- hopefully they are gonna let us go early today. :)~

Here's your Moment of Zen:

To the moon Alice!

Didn't I tell you that when I started working again the world would give me blog material?

Well, here it is...

WTF is up with people putting their bags/belongings on the seat next to them on a full train? Why the f*ck are people standing on a train when there are random seats located all about the train with people's bags/bookbags/briefcases strewn all over the seat???

I can understand if the train is mostly empty. By all means, put your bag on the seat next to you. But when people are standing up right in front or next to you... pick up your sh!t you f*cking selfish b@stard! Yeah, yeah "personal space" -- wouldn't we all love that... but you paid for ONE ticket which means ONE seat, you a$$hole.

And why don't the conductors tell them that!? They need to charge them for hogging up more than one seat -- especially when there are tired people standing up weeble wobblin' all over the d@mn place.

I wish I had the presence of mind to take a picture of the b!tch I saw yesterday who not only put her bookbag on the seat next to her but laid her self on top of it. I swear I got a flashback of the kids body slamming their toys and yelling "Mine! Mine!" when they were two.

In fact, tonight when I get my a$$ on the full 4:54 train out of Stamford I will be taking pictures. Your selfish a$$ WILL be on the internet. Heh.

******************************

Speaking of trains, how does anyone ever know that they are in the right car? You know what I'm talking about... when the overhead speaker shouts out, "Next stop Westport - you must be in the 3rd and 5th car to exit the train."

Who counts the cars before they get on the train? How do I know I'm in the right car?? It's not like inside the train car there's a number or anything. How do they know?

Garsh, I've always panicked about that since way back when I used to take the train back and forth from Port Chester to New Haven.

If you know, I'd love you to share that information with me.

******************************

Still speaking on trains...

I have a dilemma. Which would you rather do?

A) Rush to get from the shuttle to the 4:54 train that is PACKED and has little likelihood that I will have a seat or any personal space and get home by 5:20; or
B) Take my time off the shuttle and get on the 5:05 that has plenty of seats and personal space and get home about 5:40?

I'm totally torn between the two.

******************************

So last night was the football team's drinking extravaganza at Dunn's Pub in Hamden. I actually had a really good time. I'm not sure Jess did though. I couldn't really gauge it. Not sure why.

Well, anyway, Cat showed up since she lives very close to where the pub was. And, like I thought -- they all but recruited her to play football. LOL

YAY!!

Also, Jess is going to play too (or at least practice to find out if she really wants to) -- more details on her blog later, I'm sure.

We also did about 5 player interviews for the documentary. A lot of players either didn't show up or came too late and we lost sunlight. I think I'm gonna try to get the rest on Sunday at practice.

******************************

k -- gotta go...

Here's your Moment of Zen:

...that is the question.

Happy Hump day!

So, guess what, Im in a play.

Im insane, I know.

But my friend Packie wanted to audition and asked me to come with him. So I did. Turns out no one else auditioned. LOL So we were picked by default. I got a copy of the script last night. How the heck Im gonna remember all my lines?? OY! LOL

The name of the play is When I Knew. Its pretty much just a recitation of other peoples coming out stories (and my own as well!). You all should come! June 22nd and 23rd. Your $20 ticket also gets you a cheese and wine reception before-hand. :D (mmmmmm cheese :::drool::::).

(Help me. LOL)

**************************************

Im trying to get a writers meeting together for the online show (still needs a name folkz!) Im producing. Im thinking a BBQ and drinks at our house on June 30th.

So, all of my writers out there - save the date make travel arrangements! More info is at the shows online forum.

Im also trying to funnel some money away (or planning to anyway once we are back on track money-wise) to get the equipment Im going to need to do the show.

I need at least one more camera, some lighting equipment (which I found some very cheap alternatives for), a MAC and Final Cut software suite.

I put some stuff on my wish list in case anyone was feeling particularly generous youll get sponsor credits on every show (as well as on the documentary Im shooting) for your generosity! :D

**************************************

Kristies car is with our friend Ruben being fixed as we speak. Hes going to do a $1,000 job for us for parts and $200.

Garsh its good to know people.

We desperately need to get all of the cars back in shape. Though, me taking the train has taken one of the dire necessitys out of the equation.

**************************************

Speaking of taking the train this morning my sweet, sweet squishee woke up early and drove me to the train station. Thank you baby. Muah!

**************************************

So we dodged the money bullet by getting one of those pay day loans. Jess is far more patient than I. I tried to do it myself and the rate they came back with sucked a$$ and I ended up getting (no exaggeration) seven calls at work from different loan sharks companies trying to sell me a bridge.

Jess ended up going with mycashnow.com and got a reasonable loan fee ($50) and we can pay it back out of her June 15th paycheck.

Whew. That was a close one.

Now our gas bill will clear and we arent COMPLETELY broke until next week when we get paid. :D

**************************************

Tonight we are going to Dunns Pub in Hamden with the football team for some team bonding. (No worries, Ill be drinkin cheap beers or soda! LOL)

Im also doing player interviews for the documentary tonight as well. Not entirely sure how Im going to accomplish it but hey, we shall see. Should be fun anyway.

**************************************

Welp, time to go. Gotta find some work to do since no one is giving me any.

Have a great hump day!

And now your Moment of Zen:

you know, being as Im an actor and all lol

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

I might proving you right with my silence or retaliation...

Welp, I did it.

I survived my first train ride to work. Here are my thoughts:

1) Walking to the train station sucks a$$. Hopefully itll get better.

2) I got raped on a weekly pass and didnt realize it til I was on the train. They charged me from Saturday. I bought the ticket today (Tuesday) and its only good til Friday.

3) Sitting on the train and listening to my ipoop and doing some reading for school wasnt half bad the ride in was quick.

4) I saw an accident on the Stamford streets below the train tracks. From what I could gather some woman hit a man that was crossing the street w/ her car. Gawkers abounded. Traffic was a mess. I was glad I wasnt in it.

5) There are a massive amount of train commuters getting off the trains all at the same time.

6) Its been re-confirmed: I still believe that form-fitting shirts and jeans are not a luxury fat girls can enjoy.

7) I can say that b/c I am a fat girl.

8) I found the work shuttle easy enough but I hate looking around like Im lost. Thankfully that was over.

9) The guys (all 4 of them were guys) on the van were very chatty and friendly. Shuttle Ride = Painless.

10) I have barely any time to smoke. Which is a good (less smoking = better health) and a bad (JONESIN!) thing.

*************************************

The financial situation just WILL not stop being bad.

My first paycheck cant come fast enough. Come next Thursday/Friday everything will start getting better BUT T-Mobile decided that they werent gonna wait til next week and we have about $60 to our name until a week from Thursday.

Nice, huh? Lol

So I guess we have no phones until next week.

It looks like I may be driving to work next week b/c we cant afford to buy another train ticket. Lol

Thankfully Im off on Monday for Memorial Day! :P

On top of all that, we got hit with so many overdraft fees that our check to the gas company is going to bounce. Any second now.

And being as we have tapped every resource for loans already, well, were just screwed. Its bad enough that we are going to be paying people back through August.

Ok, this is too depressing.

Moving on.

*************************************

A big ole Happy Birthday to Darlene!

Even though youre too busy cruisin to be bothered to read my blog. :D

*************************************

Tonight Packie and I are going to audition for When I Knew which is a public reading from the book of coming out stories.

Im sure I wont get the part, but Packie will, I have no doubt!

But I figured, eh, what the heck. :D

*************************************

Gotta run.

And now your Moment of Zen:

Monday - bloody - Monday

Hi.
OK, -- I'm gonna try the train for a month and see what's what. ...sigh... Not to mention it's gonna save wear and tear on the car(s).
This morning on the way in I heard a "crunch" noise while I was peddlin' (read: crawling) down the highway. Apparently an 18-wheeler crashed into the RAV4 that was sitting next to me in traffic.
The first thing I thought was "thank god I wasn't behind them". Is that wrong?
**************************************
This weekend was an exercise in laziness. Saturday we went to Waterbury to take our niece Julia to Chuck E Cheese so that I could observe her for my child development class.

Little Eric didn't feel like going (imagine!). So we were there for a few hours and she was such a joy to be around.

Of course when I got home and reviewed the assignment, come to find out that I did it all wrong.

I thought I had to observe an infant/toddler in two different environments. Unfortunately, I was supposed to observe TWO infants/toddlers in a school/daycare setting in two different situations. Not good.

It's due Friday.

Guess who's gonna flub her assignment? Good guess.

I have a job (now) who has time to take off to spend in a daycare?? Psh. Not.

**************************************
Anyway, after Waterbury we were invited to dinner with Meg and Bear... so we went to Hamden and had some yummy lasagna with them.

Bear is coming on as a writer and actor for the new show I plan on producing. (Have you signed on??)

Anyway, I was doing some research this weekend on ways to get that show done and there are some really ingenius "get arounds" to our low (read: no) budget.

**************************************

Speaking of school... I've decided I am going to take next term off. I'm feeling overwhelmed.

So I dropped my Adolescent Psych class for next term.

I've just been too all over the place, and my grades are really suffering. 8 weeks off sounds like heaven right now.

Unfortunately, that also means that my finish date will also be pushed back.

**************************************

Sunday we blew off everything. I was just exhausted. So much so that we took a nap from 1:30 until 5:30. Blew off youth group and football.

I just couldn't function. I don't know why. I think I'm fighting some kinda cold or something. My energy level is nonexistent.

We did go grocery shopping though. We were out of everything. :P

Then we watched Sopranos and The Tudors. Both were awesome. I was listening to the radio this morning and Z100 hinted that Tony Soprano is going to die.

Yeah, I know, that was a spoiler but they didn't warn me, so I'm not warning you. LOL

Deal with it. ;)

**************************************

Anyway, Wednesday night we are going to game night with the football team at Dunn's Pub in Hamden. If you're free, you should come. :)

I have to do player interviews that night for the documentary. Not entirely sure how I'm going to swing doing that at the moment, but we'll see.

**************************************

Time to fly...

I'm not a second-rate queen getting kicks with a crown.

HOLA!

T to the G to the I to the F!

Thank GOODNESS!

I am just about done with my first week of work. All in all, it was pretty good. I wore jeans today and I am happy as a pig in sh!t about it.

Jess got paid today (though we ended up getting slammed with several overdraft fees, we have far less money on hand than we expected).

But we aren't completely broke so that's progress.

****************************

I'm hoping we can go to a movie tonite... even though I've heard a lot of bad reviews for Spiderman 3 - I must see it.

Tomorrow, I think we are going to babysit my sister-in-law's kids (wow that's so weird to say!) partly to give them a break - partly because I have to observe a toddler for my child development class.

Then Sunday is Youth Group and football.

Bizzy bizzy. I had forgotten what it felt like to constantly feel like I have no time.

****************************

Speaking of movies, I must see:

1) Shrek 3
2) Fantastic Four 2

****************************

So we finally watched Monday's episode of Heroes last nite. DAYUM that show is getting exciting!

Do you guys watch it?? I love it!

****************************

So I got the results of that physical that I had to get for my job.

My blood pressure is a bit high.
My cholesterol is high.

In other words, I'm fat...and these be the side effects.

Duh. LOL

****************************

Welp, I better go.

Here's your Moment of Zen:

Happy weekend!
