The Great Tina-cious Tattoo Contest

I am a virgin.

Tattoo virgin, that is.

This body-o-mine is inkless.

And very soon I will be losing at least one of my lesbian stripes due to this oversight.

I cannot tell you how many times I have sat through a "this is my tat" or "look at my new tat" or "I got inked here" or "Oh you have tats! Look at mine!" or "well this tat I got when I was _________ and it's so faded" or "Wow, where'd you get that!" or "Nice tat!" or "I use so-and-so down at the ____________ tattoo parlor. He/She's awesome!" conversation in my lesbionic travels.

I used to be against getting one.

I was firmly entrenched in the notion that if I got a tattoo now, when I was 86 what used to be a hot chick on my arm would look more like Droopy.

Then Bobbie got one -- Jess has several and the more I saw hers the hotter I thought it was, my other friends were getting more.... hell, even our 19 year old got one!

The ink itch began.

The problem -- however -- is that I am ENTIRELY too visual a person. Hell, you see how often I change the look of my blog!

I do that with everything. I can't look at the same thing too long without getting bored with it. How the heck am I gonna find an image that I want PERMANENTLY -- as in forever more -- affixed to my body?

How??

So -- I started to look.

....and look and look...

... and look and look and look and look and look and look and look and look.

I didn't LOVE anything.

Then finally as I was surfing the 'net I found something.

Something VERY close to what I was looking for.

But the image I saw sent my mind a'spinnin' and now I know exactly the tattoo I want but being as my artist abilities are not top-notch enough I'm turning to you -- the blogging community.

Help me draw my tat.

That's right ... I want you to draw it.. assuming you have any kind of artistic ability. lol

Here's what I want you to do:

1) Email me HERE to let me know you're interested and I will tell you what I want.
2) Draw it for me and scan it and send it to me in a pdf (or other format if you can't do a pdf).
3) Of the best ones I get I will post the top 3 to be voted on on my blog by my blog readers.
4) The *winner will be the tat that I get and finally pop this cherry (of course the tattoo artist will be given SOME creative license).

Spread this blog post FAR AND WIDE if you know a really good artist who may be interested.

I will be posting a link somewhere at the top of my blog or in my gutter so you can get back to this post quickly.

Thanks!
Tina

* I say winner but you won't win anything but some recognition on my blog -- if that matters at all. LOL

my friend just got the words for energy and love tattooed on her side in sanskrit. I told her she should just get "cliche" tattooed on her side. Needless to say, we had a fight.

but tats are definitely cool, what kind of tat are you looking for? words, symbols, something literal?

Amanda: LOL! You're bad! Nope, no words -- just images -- but I can't say here, I want it to be a surprise!

I have absolutely zero artistic ability. However, eb and Weese's wife are both VERY artistic. You might want to talk with them on Sat.

DEFINITELY the hardest part of getting a tattoo is deciding on the right design, picture, whatever. I decided I wanted one in my late 30's, didn't find THE right design till I was 45, and just got my second last summer. Now, I'm contemplating my 3rd. If you're worried about getting bored with it, you can always put it where you can't see it easily!!

    ;-)

I had a tat designed years ago and lost it :( some day I will get up the nerve to get it re-designed and done....maybe I will use your artist after you are done! Good luck! Cant wait to see it and have nothing to show in comparison ;) Meg

I can't draw anything to save my life and to be honest....I have a tattoo and I detest it.

It is one of those rose on the shoulder things and I have no idea why I thought this was a good thing. It has looked very common since day one. I used to try to put makeup over it, now I just try hard to ignore it.
