More About Me...

I'm a 30-something queer wife, activist, volunteer, lover, friend, mother, employee, student, daughter, sister, blogger, podcaster, advice giver, filmmaker, book reader, popcorn partaker. I push paper for a job but I dream of bigger things...

Sick soup coming soon!

Yesterday Kristie got two flat tires -- one went flat then the spare went flat disintegrated (which is something I need to take up with C@rmax and may end up in another blow up post if they don't give me what I want).

During the 2nd AAA visit the tow truck driver kept flirting with me and pulled an "Oh, I hope your husband doesn't get upset!" -- I called Jess, she didn't. Anyway -- I let it go but part of me thought -- I'm gay! Go away!

Also yesterday I picked up something from a butch on freecycle. To me she was obviously gay and there was a familiarity with her as a recognized "family member".

Then I realized I wasn't obvious and she had no idea that I was family. That kinda made me sad* and now I finally kinda understand that invisiblity thing femmes are always bitchin' about.

I still don't really mind the inivisiblity thing -- because I figure that a) Jess outs me b) I get to know the real person before they know I'm gay c) I control who knows d) it's safer in less safe situations.

But a little part of me felt like for a moment I'd love to take off my invisibily cloak (dig the Hairy Pooper reference!)

*Not because I wanted her to hit on me or anything! Don't get it twisted!

You know I think straight butches (yep they do exist) have a tough time too when people always make assumptions that a masculine woman must be gay. People so often confuse gender identity with sexuality and that bugs me too.

Reality is we shouldn't make any assumptions on a persons sexuality by the way they look. Ok rant over...:D

This is my favorite look of all your different decorating designs.

I'm at the point where I get a kick out of the fact that everyone assumes I'm straight, unless they see me with Fran. I love shocking them.
